The Journey

From Concept to Creation: The Six Stages of Bespoke Manufacturing

Every bespoke commission follows the same controlled sequence, documented in Caesar Track. Each stage below stands on its own, so you always know what has been agreed and what happens next.

  1. 01

    Consultation and brief

Bespoke jewellery manufacturing at Caesar Diamonds begins with a consultation, in our Hatton Garden office or online. We capture the piece you want, the metal, the stones, your budget and your deadline, along with any sketches, photographs or reference pieces. The brief is recorded in Caesar Track before any design work starts, so nothing is lost between conversations.

  2. 02

    CAD design

Our designers turn the brief into a precise 3D CAD model. At this stage the stone sizes, metal thickness, setting heights and proportions are fixed on screen rather than guessed at the bench. You receive photorealistic renders from every angle, and every revision is stored against the project so you can see how the design developed.

  3. 03

    Design approval

Nothing is cast until the design is approved. You or your client sign off the final renders and the itemised quote, covering the metal, the stones and the manufacturing separately. Because approval happens in CAD, changes at this point cost nothing but time, which is why the finished piece matches what was agreed.

  4. 04

    Casting and fabrication

Approved designs are cast in our own Hatton Garden workshop using lost-wax casting. The CAD model is printed as a pattern, invested into a mould and cast in 18k gold, platinum, palladium or silver. The cast piece is then cleaned, filed and refined by hand. No stage of this work is subcontracted to a third party.

  5. 05

    Stone setting

Diamonds and gemstones are set by hand under magnification. Depending on the design, setting may be claw, bezel, channel, micro-pave or invisible, and the metal is cut to each individual stone rather than the stone fitted to the metal. Every stone is checked for security and alignment against the approved design before the piece moves on.

  6. 06

    Finishing, hallmarking and delivery

The finished piece is polished and rhodium plated where appropriate, then engraved, milgrained or hand finished to the agreed standard. It passes a multi-point quality inspection, is assayed and hallmarked in line with UK regulations, and is photographed for your project record. Delivery is by fully insured courier, or by appointment at our Hatton Garden office.

Bespoke Jewellery

Bespoke Engagement Rings & Custom Jewellery, London

Caesar Diamonds is a bespoke jeweller in Hatton Garden, London, specialising in custom engagement rings, wedding bands and one-of-a-kind fine jewellery. Our bespoke process combines traditional craftsmanship with modern CAD design and full project transparency, so every client understands exactly what they're commissioning — and follows it through to completion.

Custom Engagement Rings

From classic solitaires and halo designs to three-stone and vintage-inspired settings, every engagement ring is designed around your chosen diamond and crafted to sit perfectly with its wedding band. We source GIA-certified centre stones and match side stones for cut, colour and clarity.

Wedding Bands & Eternity Rings

We craft plain and diamond-set wedding bands in platinum and 18k gold, including comfort-fit, milgrain and engraved designs. Eternity and half-eternity rings can be made to match an existing engagement ring or designed as a standalone piece.

Heirloom Redesign & Remounting

Bring new life to inherited jewellery. We carefully extract existing diamonds and gemstones, document their condition, and redesign them into contemporary settings while preserving sentimental value. The original piece is photographed and archived for your records.

High Jewellery & Bespoke Commissions

Beyond bridal, our workshop creates statement necklaces, cocktail rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants. Whether you have a clear design in mind or need guidance from concept to completion, our designers translate your vision into a finished, wearable piece.

Bespoke CAD & Approval Process

Every commission is modelled in CAD and rendered photorealistically before manufacturing. You review and approve the design from every angle, with unlimited revisions at the design stage — ensuring the finished piece is exactly what you imagined.

Transparent Pricing & Timelines

Bespoke pricing is quoted upfront based on materials, complexity and stone selection, with no hidden costs. Typical production takes two to four weeks, and every stage is documented in Caesar Track so you always know where your piece is in the workshop.

Bespoke Process

Bespoke Jewellery Manufacturing FAQs

What is bespoke jewellery manufacturing?

Bespoke jewellery manufacturing is the process of designing and making a piece to a client’s own specification rather than adapting a stock design. At Caesar Diamonds this runs from CAD design and stone selection through casting, setting and finishing in our Hatton Garden workshop.

How long does bespoke jewellery take to make?

Most bespoke commissions take two to four weeks from approved CAD, subject to stone availability. Larger or more complex pieces take longer, and we confirm a realistic schedule before work begins.

Can I supply my own design or drawings?

Yes. Clients and trade partners can bring sketches, reference images or an existing piece to work from. Our CAD team turns these into precise models and photorealistic renders for approval before anything is cast.

Do you offer a CAD design service on its own?

Yes. Our CAD and 3D rendering service is available as a standalone option for designers who already have their own manufacturing, with every revision versioned and stored against the project.
